Alligators
- These frightening looking animals have yet to display
any overt hostility to the humans inhabiting the island. They
sleep in cycles, moving in and out of the water to sun themselves
or catch smaller animals for a tasty snack. The Alligators prefer
fish and rarely pay humans any mind. |
  |
Coyotes
- Nothing like common house pets, the Coyotes of Living
Island travel in packs and hunt like wolves. They are nocturnal
and enjoy howling at the moon, especially if it keeps campers
awake. It is strongly suggested all night activities be done in
pairs so that the pack cannot corner you leaving the Latrines.
It is said the Coyote's eyes are luminescent orange, in the dark.
They are the subject of many Islander's nightmares. |
  |
Crocodiles-
The crocodiles should not be confused with the alligators of Living
Island. The crocodiles are playful creatures and find great fun
in chasing Islanders and playing fetch with their femurs. Like
lizard-y dogs, they enjoy being petted and can sometimes be distracted
by large sticks. |

 |
Foxes
- Foxes on the Island are shape shifters and mischeif makers.
They enjoy leading people astray. Don't let them trick you! |
 |
Groundhogs
- Excellent plotters, the groundhogs on the Island look for a
chance to attack visitors and gnaw on their ankles. |
 |
Lizards
- There are many lizards on the Island, such as this Iguana. Realitively
harmless, the Iguanas eat the scavanging Squirrles and Groundhogs. |
 |
Impala
- The Impala Deer on Living Island are very unique creatures.
Mostly they enjoy grazing in the valley and are content to ignore
passing animals that are not predators. However, once one of their
kind is attacked or harmed in any way, they will turn on an Islander
as a herd using hooves and horns to skewer and trample you. On
a positive note, they have very short attention spans and if you
hide long enough, they'll forget why they were chasing you, or
even that you exist and go back to grazing. |
 |
Lions
- The lions on the Island are the guardian angles of the Islander.
Known in most places for their excellent hunting and the danger
they pose to humans, the Island lions instead tend to hunt down
the more dangerous predators and feast on them at their leisure.
Because there are so many predators for them to hunt, they rarely
have the need to bother with humans and are sometimes quite friendly
with them. |
 |
Pelicans
- Inhabiting the cliffs that border the Island, the Pelicans diets
consist of fish. There is little for them to do daily aside from
fishing so they tend to pass the time by scooping water into their
ample beaks and flying over the island dive-bombing Islanders
and wildlife of all sorts, dumping the water on them and enjoying
the mayhem this causes. |
  |
Red
Billed Hornbill - Grumpy birds, if you run into one on
your own, run away. |
  |
Sitatunga
- It may look cute and innocent, but the Sitatunga on the Island
are carnivorous. Sometimes they enjoy hunting just for the thrill
of the kill. |
 |
Swans
- Extremely territorial, the swans of the Island are not averse
to pecking the eyes out of anything that approaches too closely.
They are rather large for swans, being the size of a St. Bernard
commonly. Steer clear of their bills, the Swans will bite anything
they can get near. |
 |
Vervet
Monkies - Along with the Squirrels and groundhogs of
the island, the Vervets enjoy sneaking around and stealing from
unsuspecting Islanders. Especially fond of anything shiny sometimes
they become bold enough to take it right from you while you watch.
The Vervet Monkies live in nests in the trees of the forest where
you can sometimes find amazing stashes of stolen goods. |
